Teacher Induction Program

Information and Process

 

General Information:

• Articles 18.3.2, 18.5c, and 18.9 in BUSD/BFT Contract

• Contra Costa County Office of Education Teacher Induction Program Handbook (CCCOE/TIP)

 

Participating Teacher Eligibility and Enrollment Process

• Teacher Eligibility Criteria and Enrollment

• BUSD TIP Coordinator communicates/coordinates with HR, CCCOE, principals, and teachers to determine eligibility and job assignment of new hires based on credential status and work assignment.

• BUSD TIP Coordinator contacts eligible teachers and matches them with a mentor.  

• CCCOE sends out registration information and both mentors and participating teachers sign commitment letters.

• All eligible teachers are matched with a mentor by September 30th.  Teachers hired after this date must enroll the following school year.

• Participating Teachers do not receive compensation for participating in the program and BUSD does not charge them to participate.

• However, teachers are given the option of earning credits for salary advancement.
